DIY: paper flower crown
Supplies: Green crepe paper/streamers, 4 pipe cleaners, scissors, floral wire, floral tape, green ribbon
Step 1: Twist two pipe cleaners together. Repeat.
Step 2: On each twist, fold over about 1″ of one end and link together, twisting more to secure.
Step 3: Wrap the pipe cleaner in floral tape, being sure to stretch the tape while wrapping to activate the adhesive.
Step 4: Once the entire length is covered in tape, fold both ends over to form loops. Use more floral tape to secure in place.
Step 5: Cut leaves out of crepe paper, about 1″ tall. Make sure you have four that match for each clover, but use a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes for a more interesting look. Cut floral wire into small pieces, about 3/4″ long.
Step 6: Gently twist the base of each leaf.
Step 7: Gather the four leaves together and use floral tape to attach the twisted bases to the floral wire.
Step 8: Reshape the leaves if crushed. Repeat! The crown pictured used 22 clovers.
Step 9: Starting at the center, use floral wire to attach the stems of the clovers onto the pipe cleaner. Keep the stems all going the same direction, away from the center. Keep going until you reach the pipe cleaner loop.
Step 10: Finish the other half, but make sure to attach the clovers so that the stems are pointing to the remaining loop.
Step 11: Cut a two pieces of ribbon about 12″ long and tie one to each loop. These will be used to secure the crown around the wearer’s head.
